Fledgling Youth Theatre School
Fledgling Youth Theatre (FYT) is a unique and new performing arts training ground with a particular emphasis on musical theatre, based in Cambridge, with regular performance opportunities. Students develop skills in music, dance, drama, performance and in all aspects of the stage, from designing a costume to playing a role, gaining a considerable amount of confidence along the way.
FYT does not follow the normal pattern found in many other Theatre schools of having dedicated time in separate disciplines, but instead works in a holistic way, integrating the art forms to create a well-rounded, confident performer. Skills training is embodied within the overall structure of the programme to ensure that students maintain their engagement whilst exploring a wide range of techniques.
Students of FYT will learn about the art of stagecraft through regular performances which will include a variety of opportunities such as concerts, presentations, small-scale musicals etc, and will work towards full-scale musicals and productions. Students will also get the opportunity to learn about other aspects of theatre, such as choreography, stage management, directing, etc if they wish.
